Meet Emani, an Influential Brown Girl and dedicated leader in her community!
Emani is 10 years old and currently in 5th grade. She impacts others by being a leader for Girls in her community. Emani participates in Girl Scouts and completes different community service projects. She is also a business owner and author; in addition she works with her mom who recently started a movement to empower girls with tools and resources to Dream Bigger. Emani travels to different places speaking to girls, empowering and inspiring them to apply focus and to practice using good habits that will help them achieve their dreams.
Emani is the author of “I Lost My Purse,” “I Found My Purse,” and CEO of “Mani Bowbandz and Book n Bowtique.” Emani hopes to inspire other girls to dream bigger, going after their dreams and pushing beyond any limitations.
Emani finds it important that girls know and believe that they can be anything they want to be and that they do not have to wait to accomplish their dreams. “They can dream and become what they want to be now.”
When asked to explain what beautiful means to her , Emani stated, “Beautiful is believing in yourself first, knowing that it’s okay to be you. It’s ok to accept you as you, knowing that you are enough and you already have what you need to become.”

Emani Stone is only 10-years- old and has already accomplished many things on her journey.
Emani describes herself as “All-Around”; she believes she is all around amazing! How beautiful is that? Emani strongly believes, that she is multi-talented and very creative and, everything she puts effort into trying, she is good at doing. This is definitely a message for our Beautiful Brown Girls – practice doesn’t make perfect, practice makes progress! Inspired by her mother, Emani also desires to one day provide all girls with the tools and resources to to be all they were created to be. She wants all girls to believe in themselves the way she believes in herself.
Emani is an Influential Brown Girl doing amazing things. We are super proud and deeply inspired by her courage and dedication to making a difference. We look forward to hearing more from Emani in the future. Be sure to check her out on instagram @allaroundemani and @booknbowtique. You can visit her online shop at www.booknbowtique.com.
I had an idea several weeks back while scrolling through Instagram. I saw so many young and influential girls making big moves – socially and professionally. Initially, when thinking about how I wanted to celebrate Black History Month, I decided that I would try to feature as many influential brown girls as possible throughout the month of February. I put out a call for submissions and the response was overwhelming! There are so many #beautifulbrowngirls that deserve and need to be featured. What will seeing themselves being celebrated on a public platform do for their self-esteem? Their purpose? Sense of of self, pride, motivation and desire to excel? Instead of just featuring Influential Brown Girls during the month of February, I’ve decided to keep this as an ongoing feature on my blog and will feature, at minimum, 1-3 Influential Brown Girls a month. If you would like to be considered for a feature, complete this questionnaire and submit your image via email at: info@dearbeautifulbrowngirl.net. Be sure to put the name of the beautiful brown girl you are requesting to be featured as the subject line.
